The Messengers (2007)

It wasn't as bad as critics made it out to be. There were some real chilling moments in this film, such as the hallway scene, where the main character carries her baby brother, facing away from a Samara-like ghost as it approaches them. That scene lasted about two to three minutes but it was really spine-tingling. Sure, there were bad dialogue and a dragged out beginning but it's not to the point where it's unwatchable. The crows here reminded me of the crows in "Jeepers Creepers" and the seagulls in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." I'm also glad that the "real" villain of the film was revealed in the end. If it's just the ghosts that the family has to fight, that would've been trite. At least it tried to stand out of the pack.
