While this movie could have been much better, it also could have been much worse. Jennifer Jason Leigh is great, when you can understand what she is saying. The story is decent, but doesn't focus on any significant moment in Dorothy Parker's life, therefore being a little too erratic and not cinematic enough. In between most scenes, you have Jennifer Jason Leigh reciting Dorothy Parker's poetry. This is a bit unnecessary, as a lot of her quips appear throughout the film. It slows the movie down a little, but some of it was worthwhile (as long as it was there).
I would recommend it only if you are an avid Dorothy Parker fan.
