An interesting movie that I have seen twice now. Barbara Stanwyck is a drifter that returns to her old home. In some ways it has changed and in most ways it has remained the same. She despises her surroundings, but tries to adapt. This only makes things as bad as they could be. With great direction from Fritz Lang. Not one of my favorites, but worthwhile.

My friend didn't like it that much, but this being a rewatch, a Marilyn Monroe film, a Fritz Lang film, and a very melodramatic film (in a good way), I sort of liked it. Stanwyck was 44 or 45 when she made this. A little too old, but still it worked.
