I didn't love a lot of the Star Wars callbacks and felt that the new characters were a bit flat, but I did really enjoy the atmosphere and cinematography. Edwards really does a nice job of creating a good battle scene with scale, and Jyn Erso is the nicest of the new additions. Great practical effects and war tactility, but it was often hindered by the need to adhere to the Star Wars formula (ie. comic-relief droid, random throw-ins of old characters, CGI-ing the classic actors unnecessarily, and the Darth Vader inclusion). All in all, a solid blockbuster.
