Strangely watchable road movie cum crime drama that tries so hard to be a quirky Tarantino-lite flick that it's almost a spoof of itself, but Pitt and Roberts work surprisingly well together and James Gandolfini is always worth watching.

Amazing performances from the lead but not enough to make this entertaining because of the prolonged plot. Had a few funny moments and its soundtrack was applicable for a comedy. The Mexican is a simple film made complicated but is worth a watch.

I expected a romantic comedy but it turns out to be much more than that. It's also a modern crime movie that has something to say about love and relationships. The cast is charismatic; I especially enjoyed Leroy and Sam's rumination about the complex web of caring about another person. Although the film is a bit too long and meandered a little, it's more than forgiven because it is successful at entertaining its audiences. The filmmakers even made the dog an interesting character. It's a light movie with nice twists and turns. If you're looking for a dark, brooding caper film, this is not for you. Otherwise, go ahead and watch it. It might catch you off-guard.
