Saw this again via cable and it doesn't age much. Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods shows her dexterity in comedy though Luke Wilson as Emmett Richmond wasn't that funny. Reese Witherspoon's performance is sufficient to watch this though the light plot and some annoying scenes kind of makes you uneasy. Not that many laughable scenes though the conclusion was clever enough to make it happen. Legally Blonde is about being yourself and pursuing your ambition no matter what happens. |

This was just silly and old school comedy enough that I really enjoyed it. Repeatedly. Good performances by just about everybody in the cast. I appreciate Reese Witherspoon a lot. |

Normally I would find a character like this annoying, but Witherspoon gives an upbeat and charming performance that makes this movie somewhat entertaining at times. |

Of course, it is an unrealistic premise, but, with suspension of belief in mind, it's a pretty funny movie in parts, surprisingly so. Reese Witherspoon's bubbly personality keeps a lot of the slower scenes aloft and the movie moves at an energetic and fun pace. |

Not a bad movie |

Honestly I didn't think that I would like this movie at all when I saw the preview for it, and while it did alright, I still haven't got it in me to see the sequel.
Reese Witherspoon's star-making turn as a valley girl who heads to Harvard Law School in pursuit of the upper-class snob who has dumped her but ends up spearheading the defense in a high-profile murder case. It's a cross between `Clueless' and `My Cousin Vinny' but there aren't enough solid laughs to live up to those pedigrees and outside of Witherspoon's lovable blonde-with-a-brain, the other characters are stock Hollywood caricatures. Everything's predictable, including its smug undertone: although it advocates feminist empowerment, it still gets its greatest satisfaction lampooning lesbians and frigid Ivy League coeds and... |
