I vividly remember watching this in a theater and the crowd was really into it. So many horrific and surprising scenes. A story of Rika is a volunteer social worker with the revelation of the sinister Takeo Saeki, the killer of Kayako, and the source of the Grudge. It has a well written mysterious plot, terrifying score and amazing performances all throughout. The Grudge is a well made horror near as good as the original Ring. |

When dealing with remakes, the original is more than likely better than the original. So it is with Ju-On. The story is still chaotic, but the feel is just creepier. If you don't mind subtitles, I suggest watching this before the remake. |

It does have its flaws; there's little in the way of plot, the cast are adequate but not remarkable and the cinematography is a little too bright and sterile for the subject matter. What makes the film is the director's ability to play on images that seem to plug directly into the fear centre of the brain, making it feel as if the characters are never safe no matter where they are and, in parti... |
