The best movie to watch when you've been put down by all the burdens of life. This movie is about running away from your problems for a day and grabbing life by the balls. One of the most fun movies you will see. |

Steeped in 80's nostalgia, Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a classic madcap romp that celebrates childlike enthusiasm and energy. Matthew Broderick's reckless teen anchors what is a brilliantly-written and smartly-funny comedy (written by the great John Hughes). |

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) |
|
One of the best teen flicks of all time!
Ferris Bueller (played superbly by Matthew Broderick), is everybody's favorite guy and an expert at fooling his parents. He's handsome, cool, funny fearless, and a very well liked young man by everyone in his community. One day, Ferris wakes up and decides that he doesn't want to go to school. So he whips up a clever scheme that fools his parents, and persuades his lovable but extremely paranoid best friend, Cameron (Alan Ruck) into lending him a sports car which the pride and joy of his father. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off review |
|
Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) fakes a sickness to skip school. He contacts Sloane (Mia Sara), and his cynical best friend, Cameron (Alan Ruck) to spend time in Chicago before going their separate ways in college. Jeanie (Jennifer Grey) is highly jealous of his brother Ferris. Dean of Students, Edward Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) believes that Ferris’ condition is a hoax. The trio experience a game at Wrigley Field, Sears Tower, the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Mercantile Exchange and being part of the Von Steuben Day Parade.
The picture had an effervescent soundtrack coupled with a witty screenplay. A few wonderful quotes from Ferris – “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” “A man with priorities so far out of whack doe... |

Save Ferris!!!! |
|
Oh, God- if only it were that easy. I try to ditch school and the teacher phones home to ask how I'm feeling, and... well. Yes, obviously it's no cinch for Ferris to not get caught, but as we learn, Ferris Bueller never gets caught. Sure it's no sophisticated Oscar winning comedy but I'll watch it over 'Shakespeare In Love' any day. Why? It's light, it's easy, you don't have to stop and think to understand the jokes, it's one of those stupid comedies that you can't resist. One of those movies that you keep in the video drawer and watch on a rainy day... it's also a movie you don't want your kids to get ideas from. I haven't seen many of Matthew Broderick's films but from those I did, this is my favorite (I mean Godzilla, eh ok, but Inspector Gadget, in the old Jewish words of wisdom: Oy V... |
