An otherwise cheap, nondescript hotel in the Latin quarter of Paris becomes the epicenter of the beat generation, as censorship in America forces a cadre of people who spoke for a generation: Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, William Burroughs and Ian Somerville are just some of the men who called the hotel their haven during this tumultuous time. And this is the story behind the now-iconic locale. -- Chris Kavan
