Murky thriller with supernatural overtones. It's well acted though.

Simon silver: "Are you questioning my power?!". This is one of those movies that everybody felt letdown with, but it didn't for me. Red Lights is about a Psychologist and assistant work to debunk so-called "mediums" and parapsychologists but it all changes when they begin to investigate a world-famous psychic. This movie has a nice twist that I didn't see coming and all the cast do a fine job in there roles. But the movie to me lacks of thriller and lacks on interest. But overall Red lights is alright film and not as bad as people are putting it out to be.

I spent most of the movie saying, "okay, that is just not how academia works," but it was nonetheless well-acted and pretty fun to watch... a different angle from the standard cinematic ghost story. Then the movie blew all my goodwill in the last scene or two. Let's just pretend that never happened.

Unfortunately it has also inherited their hokiness and reliance on telegraphed twists that are all to obvious to anyone with any cinematic literacy. Red Lights does have its moments thanks to the superior cast and the cinematography is attractive and atmospheric, but as always seems to be the case with the genre the initial intrigue is far more entertaining than the pay off. In the end it feels …

nice twist but a bit of a let down

A Psychologist ( Sigourney weaver ) and her faithful male assistant ( Cillian murphy ) when not lecturing students on paranormal activity go out to investigate those claiming to be mediums in order to prove they are frauds and the prove the abilities i do not exist. ,THe biggest of these mediums is a blind man played by robert de nero who is feared by weaver. the film then takes on a tense feeling till the end which i wont spoil which reveals a big twist. The movie was interesting and tense and i liked the twist a lot . but it failed on quite a few levels.. there just wasn't the right dialogue between the actors to engage the viewer properly . you expect things to get good but it feels like its made up as it goes along and leaves everybody detached from eachother including the …
