Honestly, it comes closer to its mark than most of Adam Sandler's other movies.

This movie is about a bunch of high school friends come together 30 years later for an unforgettable Fourth of July weekend. Terrible jokes and Rob Schneider annoyed the crap out of me.

Fellow critics have mentioned what needs to be said, cast had rapport but lacks a good screenplay. Jokes even included the kids, which made it forced and crude at times (the kid breastfeeding and nanny jokes). Some sequences had good intentions, as a a whole the movie was not that good. Despite its popular cast, the characters were uninteresting and doesn't make any huge impact, comically and philosophically. Overall feel of Grown Ups makes you feel like watching a kids show with adult humor.

A Nostalgic Experience!

This film is basically about five grownups (Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, and David Spade) who formed a basketball-championship winning team back in '78, but now lead totally different lives. They are reunited after their basketball coach passes away and decide to spend a Fourth of July holiday weekend together with their families. Now besides the fact that the movie is built around their memories from their childhood, the movie also captures the conflict between the two generations in terms of childhood entertainment where the grownups emphasize getting outdoors instead of being so dependent on TV-Cable-Internet-Texting-Video Games and the lot. It also includes the beautiful Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek plays Sandler's supermodel wife.
