A documentary that focuses on an actress from many years ago, Yoo Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg is about Gertrude Berg, an actress who began her career in radio by writing and voicing Mrs. Goldberg, a Jewish housewife who manages her family. When television becomes the norm, she successfully transfers her show to the new medium, which becomes TV's first sitcom. The documentary shows how Berg dealt with the problems of the times, including WWII and her co-star being blacklisted. In addition to starring as her signature character, she also wrote and produced all the shows as well, which was unheard of then. An interesting examination of a time gone by.
