Throughout this movie I felt like I was watching a really bad children's movie. I just cannot believe some of these actors could leave the stage after their performances. I just don't understand why they made all of the characters caricatures, like the bully with that voice. I guess they were trying to do something with it all, but this was really stupid. I really hated this movie. Never before has a "classic" movie turned me off so much. I will be skipping out on the 3rd, and will be one of those haters that just doesn't get the BTF franchise. I wanted them to be good so badly too. |

The first one was brilliant and this has a decent premise, but it seems to be far more interested in being "clever" than offering any kind of coherent narrative. Biff has been promoted from school bully to fully-fledged homicidal psychopath overnight and much of the humour relies on putting Michael J Fox in a dress. A bit of a mess, really. |

A really good sequel. I enjoyed it almost as much as the first. I especially dug the time travel the most. |

Back to the Future II review |
|
Definitely one of my personal favorite sequels (along with Godfather II and Empire Strikes Back) because of its ingenuity and storytelling. Still, the first film was more compelling and heartwarming than the second installment. The old cast is back, Christopher Lloyd as the perky Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown, Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, Marty McFly Jr. and Thomas F. Wilson as the grumpy Griff/Biff Tannen. The problem in the first film, Marty has to save the future of his existence and his parents to fall in love. This time, he has to go to the future and save his kids and prevent any issues in the McFly family. A few timeless quotes: Doc Brown – “The time-traveling is just too dangerous. Better that I devote myself to study the other great mystery of the universe: women!” Marty: “For...

Continuing (& revisiting) the fun of the 1st movie |
|
"Dr. Emmett 'Doc' Brown" (Christopher Lloyd) arrives from the future seconds after coming back from the past to find "Marty McFly" (Michael J. Fox) and his girlfriend "Jennifer Parker" (Elisabeth Shue, who has taken over the role from Claudia Wells starting in this movie). "Brown" informs them that there is a problem with their children in the future, and insists that they come with him.
In the future, after "Doc" renders "Jennifer" unconscience when she begins to ask way too many questions in the excitement of being in the future, "Doc" and "Marty" find "Marty Jr." (Fox), who is a complete nerd, being harassed by "Griff Tannen" (Thomas F. Wilson), the future grandson of "Biff Tannen" (Wilson), who is the high school archrival of "Marty's" father, "George" (Jeffrey Weissman and, in foo... |
