Against the Ropes!

A parody of the Rocky movies with a female twist that tells the story of one woman trying to succeed in a man’s world. Meg Ryan portrays Jackie Kallen, the first female boxing manager who successfully broke the gender barrier of the boxing world when she becomes the first successful female boxing promoter. Initially she worked as an executive assistant (secretary) at a boxing venue, but gets a chance to manage on a bet with top dog Sam LaRocca played byTony Shaloub. She finds a young fighter who has potential, but when placed in the spotlight, Jackie lets fame go to her head. This causes trouble between her and the boxer, Luther Shaw (Omar Epps) who now wants a new manager…..Will her last-second pep-talk to Luther make him win the fight for the coveted belt??? It’s anybody’s guess!
