If you love yourself, skip it. |

If you feel like wasting time and watching something distastefully done and gory then Pathology is just for you.
In a typical Hollywood Horror fashion, we see a lot of blood, people's insides on the outside and almost too graphic sex scenes.
The way I see it, the actors did the best they could with their parts but the enormous leak in the script is just there and no amount of acting talent could make up for it.
Ventimiglia and Weston give good performances and almost manage to make the movie exciting near the end.
The main idea of the so called plot is apparently the nature of human kind and what people are capable of doing - an idea that is fast becoming overused and in this movie it's not even that well done.
To sum it up - I wouldn't recommend this movie to any person whom I... |

Alyssa Milano sightings are worth one star. Thus, similiar sucky movies like Commando, Embrace of the Vampire, Double Dragon, and Poison Ivy 2 are in the same 1 star bucket. On the upside, she really is the only tolerable character in this one note failure. Sigh. |

Slightly short of the mark. |

'Pathology' is an interesting little thriller. On the one hand it tries (and fails) to deliver a sense of morality to its precedings, a la 'Saw', but it just doesn't have that movie's depth or characters that you really care about. On the other hand, it does kill (!) 90 minutes and deliver a satisfactory ending.
The plot (or lack of) centres around brilliant graduate student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia), a beacon of respectability and high moral values, who joins a team of fellow pathologists that have God-like egos. The main protagonist, Jake (Michael Weston), dares Ted to join 'The Game' - where the person being dared has to kill at random and the rest of the team have to use their skills to show how the deed was done. Will the seemingly incorruptableTed take up the challenge of get... |

Huh? |

Really stupid and unsympathetic characters ruin the movie, why should we care if a loved one dies when you've just murdered a bunch of people for no reason? This is how it went, "I'm a nice guy with a sense of morality but now I meet this group of serial killers and in one night I am smoking crack, binge drinking, f***ing the group whore and murdering people for fun." There is no steady descent and no explanation. They also try to throw in some lame sex scenes and autopsies just for the hell of it. I have to give them credit for not coping out in the end though and some of the methods of death were pretty cool, other than that I can see why this barely made it to a few screens. |
