Plot: A German journalist with writer's block decides to leave the U.S. and return to Germany. At the airport her meets a fellow German and her nine-year-old daughter Alice. They strike up a friendship out of necessity and he thinks nothing of it when she asks to look after her daughter for a time. But he soon realizes Alice will be in his care for much longer and the two soon strike off on an adventure in Europe as he seeks out the girl's grandmother. -- Chris Kavan
