Tensely plotted WW2 thriller about Nazi infiltrators escaping across the Canadian wilderness after their submarine is sunk. Some turn good, some remain bad. Further complicating things are random Canadian citizens who impede their escape out of sheer patriotic duty. Here is where the film is amusing because they are played by random cameo appearances by Laurence Olivier, Leslie Howard, or Glynnis Johns.

This is one of the worse Pressburger & Powell films ever. It's very boring.
