Are you ready to see full douche Stiller. The Heartbreak Kid is about a man thinks he just married the perfect woman only to discover that she is a terrible person for him - just in time he meets the perfect woman. Ben Stiller's character in this movie is such a dick and such a big tool that I couldn't get into his character at all, i mean his the main character of the film and I should be cheering him on, but what went in my mind during the movie was "Just Die". Malin Akerman plays the annoying crazy wife that started off alright at the first, but then out of nowhere she turns into a crazy psycho wife. This movie has unlikable characters and a lazy cliche script.

There are a handful of hard laughs, but the characters and situations become more irritating as the movie progresses.

Annoying and Unfunny

Franz Patrick - wrote on 02/06/2008

The first hour or so was okay but then the conclusion felt really forced. Suddenly, I felt angry at the movie because it tricked me into thinking that it was sort of funny but, in reality, it's nothing but an offensive, insensitive mess. I wish I didn't watch it because it felt like it was over two hours long. The bodily fluid jokes were over-the-top and the sex scenes were pure torture to watch. The characters are unrelatable and mean. The jokes about Mexicans crossing the border was unfunny because people do go through that and some die because of it. The only reason why I watched the movie was because the previews were funny. Unfortunately those were the only funny parts. The rest of the film is a big, black gaping hole. Avoid it if you can.

Something to think about before getting married

It is always refreshing to see Ben Stiller doing yet another romantic comedy, nah I’m just kidding. Well the movie is good, not... All jokes aside I think the movie is pretty funny, no this time I’m telling the truth. I like the whole music thing going on during the in between scenes, which is a Farley brothers trademark. Another thing I like is Michelle Monaghan, she brings lightness to the whole movie. Heartbreak Kid is a completely watchable film, and I think I’m going to watch it again now. One thing I wish to see is the musical performance of the whole cast in the ending credits, like they did in the immortalize version of the song Buttercup. Overall it was as I said refreshing, I mean it this time. A somewhat nostalgic feeling this movie brings to the table. You kind feel …

Heartbreakingly funny

This movie is insanely funny. Crass, but that can be expected from the Farrelly Bros. I saw the original version a couple years ago and it was watchable, but not that worthwhile.

This movie pulls out all the gags & punches without being too cliche. There is a Something About Mary/hair gel like stunt. Completely different, but memorable and gross. It got me to cover my eyes. Eww!!!! That was probably the worst thing about the movie, but also the best (no spoilers, sorry). The gag was also set up extremely well. Malin Akerman's character mentioned this early on in the movie, but for no reason did you think that this would come into play. The plot devices were seamless.

Towards the end, you're like, oh okay, oh my gosh this is it. Was the movie worth it? And of course there is a …
