Black Sheep is one of thoughs films that people don't give the time to see because they see that it's about flesh eating sheep, they automatically say "too cheesy." A film can be cheesy and well made. Black Sheep is one of the few films that shows us that. |

Another entry into the super gory/funny horror flicks in line with Peter Jackson's 'Dead Alive'. If you love that film then you'll like this. |

"Black Sheep" by Yojimbo |
|
An immoral farmer using illegal genetic manipulation to create a new strain of sheep gets more than he bargained for when a couple of animal rights activists accidentally release a mutant virus that turns his flock into flesh eating monsters. Black Sheep does exactly what it says on the tin. Taking its cues from zombie and werewolf films, it's a no frills comic horror film that doesn't aim for outright parody or belly laughs, instead relying on the inherent silliness of the idea. As a result I'd hardly call it hilarious, but it does have its funny moments and the film as a whole is surprisingly well done, with the cast playing it admirably straight, some very nice photography and quality effects. Very much in the tradition of countryman Peter Jackson's Bad Taste and Braindead (although a ... |

Pretty Good! |

This movie is genius because it is able to make generally harmless sheep as dangerous as those ravenous zombies in “28 Days Later.” Even though it’s more comedic than horrific, the film is clever not just in its title but also in its way of telling the story. I think this is perfect for those who are too scared of “real” horror movies because there are a lot of genuinely funny scenes, but it won’t leave out the horror fans because it has plenty of gore. I shouldn’t have watched this while I was eating because some scenes are so gruesome to the point where I wanted to throw up. Nathan Meister is great as the “black sheep” of the family who went to live in the city after his father’s accident, leaving his brother (Peter Feeney) to take care of the farm. Over the years, Meister developed an ... |
