Nicholas Cage - Now Starring in Everything!

If you haven't had a chance to check out my profile page (and why not - I'm a nice guy!), I'll tell that under my guilty pleasures I list the "many films of Nicolas Cage" (and Super Troopers). Why you ask? The actor is not exactly discriminating when it comes to picking out his projects, especially not lately. If you need proof, well, let's look at a few key pieces of evidence from the past few years:

Season of the Witch

Drive Angry

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Bangkok Dangerous

The Wicker Man - Where the actor really distinguished himself by punching out a girl in a bear suit.

Now, that is not to say he hasn't been in some good films. I enjoyed the National Treasure movies. Kick-Ass was quite good and his kind of crazy persona worked well in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. So why am I bringing this up? It seems like the actor has a lot on his plate these days - to the tune of at least 12 projects (it seems rumors of his inclusion in The Expendables 3 were premature - but don't count him out - anything is possible!). This includes Kick-Ass 2 (probably more of cameo, but hey - he'll be there) a Left Behind reboot, a new National Treasure film, the animated caveman adventure The Croods and the super-violent sounding I Am Wrath.

Of course, this being the Internet, it's not at all surprising there is a Nicolas Cage as the Star of Everything meme. Some of them are actually quite hilarious (or hilariously creepy). It's like the scene in being John Malkovich where the actor crawls into his own mind. But as life imitates art - it seems Cage - while not in everything, is going to be busy. Will these join the list of guilty pleasure or actually be worth watching? At least The Croods looks promising. The rest? I'll have to wait and see.

He is such a movie whore. The bad thing is that he is not good.

I kept looking for a Port of Call sequel. His character did get promoted, so that would be the perfect lead-in. I am looking forward to The Croods, but only because of Emma Stone. It seems Nicholas Cage is giving Liam Neeson career lessons, as he is keeping himself busy with a lot on his plate, too.
