It started off well, but went down hill from there. It was boring, me and my mom fell asleep, and woke up just in time to see the terrible ending. |

Too many flashbacks and an odd choice of directors do little to ruin this pungeant remake of the 1973 cult classic; the film has several eerie moments and gets better as it goes along with powerful feminist statements from the usually misogynistic Neil LaBute. One wonders why this was panned by just about everyone. Final Grade: B |

One of the Funniest movies ever made. |

Ok, I'm just going to come right out and say it: This is one of the funniest movies ever made. In fact, I'd go as far as to say this is one of the best comedies of the decade. I think that had this been marketed as a comedy or a spoof rather than a remake of the 70's British horror classic "The Wicker Man" it would've done better both commericially and critically. But unfortunately, it was made out to be a poor excuse of a scare fest and didn't even earn back its budget.
Well, the story is pretty simple. A cop (played by a hilariously awful Nicholas Cage) travels to an island in search of the missing daughter of his girlfriend. In the process, he learns that the island is a strange place filled with strange people and a tradition known as the burning of the Wicker Man.

Another Bad Horror Remake...What A Shock! |

NOTE: I have rewatched the film, and I now love it. Why? Because it is one of the funniest movies of the last 10 years. If I were grading this as a comedy, 'd give it a 5 out of 4. So keep in mind, in my review, I'm grading it as a horror movie.
Ah, you know what I like? Horror films. You know what else I like? Nicholas Cage movies. So why is it that I hate this movie, a horror film WITH Nicholas Cage, with every bone in my body? Is it because it's a remake of one of my favourite horror films of all time? Is it because they turned Lord Summerisle into a woman? Is it because the movie sucks? Well, yes. This movie sucks harder than Paris Hilton on a stranger's cock. So let's see why this movie made me want to commit Scepiku...
