Still an entertaining watch!

It is the year 2035 and Robots are the “new must have” accessory, carrying out menial tasks for the humans in all facets of life. They have 3 rules of conduct hard coded into them which essentially state they cannot harm humans. At the very beginning of the movie we are told the three laws of Robotics, which are:
1) A robot can never harm a human.
2) A robot must obey all human orders unless it conflicts with the first law.
3) A robot must protect itself unless it conflicts with the first two laws.
Will Smith plays Officer Del Spooner, a cop with an apparent attitude problem wearing his vintage 2004 converse and driving his tricked out Audi who embarks on a puzzling case of suicide of the top scientist at U.S. Robotics Dr. Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell) which he believes …

When a prominent robotic scientist seemingly commits suicide, robot-hating detective Will Smith suspects that one of his creations is the true culprit. Well, it's a Hollywood blockbuster, so you will have to tolerate Will Smith doing his usual pec flexing, wisecracking schtick, Bridget Moynahan trying too hard to breathe life into her under-written eye candy role, and some frankly shameless product placement. However this is definitely an above par example because the script actually does not do the original Asimov stories a disservice and captures their spirit quite well; the character of Sonny played by Alan Tudyk is probably the most likeable and arguably best acted in the film and there are some pretty (if not entirely convincing) SFX. Good special effects carry a fair movie

"Detective Spooner" (Will Smith) is a police detective who has a prejudice against robots, and one of them (Alan Tudyk) apparently committed the a murder of its human creator. Or has it?
This is one of the best movies to use CGI in awhile. The robots are well done and are blended into the background perfectly. The robots with a reflective shell are easily the best CGI characters in the movie. I also liked the way the voice was used for all of the same type of robot.
The story itself is pretty predictable, even though my first intuition on killer was wrong. I pretty much knew what was going to happen a couple of scenes before it did.
