A thick, funny, and action-packed opus that ranks with just about any Marvel or DC comic book film.

in the film Nazis used black magic to conjure up a demon, but he is rescued by a group of allies and grows to be a champion of justice but evil forces conspire to bring out his dark side once again. This movie scream epic and the main hero is bad-ass.

Pearlman shines in the lead and the creature designs are fantastic, but I never found it to be engaging at all.

There isn't a moody origin story to tell in this unique comic book film. Instead, there's a lot of creature design, monster battles, and some witty one-liners. Guillermo Del Toro lovingly creates a special universe and Ron Perlman is Hellboy.

Hellboy was a great comic book movie, even though i had no idea about the comic by dark house ron perlman was very good as Hellboy, though it would of been good to see some of the other super heroes fight more. seeing the demon in the film display a lot of human qualities was a nice touch and the evil martial arts guy was cool i definetly recommend it

"Hellboy" is a stylish film, but the story is actually a little muddled and hard to follow. I found the sequel to be a much better film. As always, I monitored the film for tobacco-use. The cigar-chomping Hellboy, as well as three other characters, smoked during the film on 12 separate scenes, earning the film a SmokeScreeners rating of 4 Butts. http://tinyurl.com/ca5x29
