I HATE Thor & I've always hated Thor since I started getting into collecting comic books in Junior High.I never got the story & always found them to be boring so I was completely suprised that I liked this movie right from the start or that I even liked it at all.My only problem with this movie was Natalie Portman.I just just found her to completely annoying/irritating & I really hope when the sequel comes out, She won't be a part of it

Another one of those pictures where a comic/superhero is depicted. Thanks to the very talented casting of Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman, sensational CGI and script, Thor has been fun to watch. It seems Marvel has been doing their research in terms of casting (see The Incredible Hulk, Spiderman, etc.). The tempo of the film never bores, there was a mixture of humor, drama and action. Great job by the director, cast, screen writer and visual effects crew.

This film zips along with an energetic pace that makes it extremely watchable and entertaining. The only complaint is that the human characters aren't given as much screen time and, thus, are basically paper-thin. When the film shifts to Asgard, however, the weight and power of battling gods is awe-inspiring and makes for some of the most jaw-dropping and visual action sequences of the film. Thor's adjustment to human life should have received more attention, but I get that that's not the type of film Branagh was trying to make and, surely, that will come in future sequels.

Thor ramps up the movie by having tons of great graphics and CGI, plenty of action, and a little comedy. The story is really two stories in one, with Thor's world, Asgard, having troubles of their own. Thor gets kicked out, and of course, sent to good ole Earth. This is the second story of the movie. Thor stand out like a sore thumb, but one gal doesn't think he's crazy (Natalie Portman). The story is pretty good, it was entertaining, but also predictable. Definitely watch it, as it introduces one the Avengers.

I was a little worried for Thor when the previews were CGI heavy, but Thor is a pleasant surprise. While there are lots of special effects, at no time do they feel overbearing. What Thor really has going for it is it's story and cast - there's just enough of a fish-out-of-water story as Thor adjusts to his new existence on Earth, along with his eventual realization of being a hero. The cast is pretty good - Hemsworth is just what I would have pictured as Thor, and he and Natalie Portman have a good rapport with one another. I'm hoping for more entries in the Thor franchise (beyond next summer's The Avengers) that can build upon their relationship. A good superhero movie.

Provides a solid mix of action and laughs amidst the Shakespeare-ian like interplay between the Asgardian characters. This was my favorite section of the film, all of the scenes taking place in the realm of Asgard. Everything felt grand and spectacular. The earth scenes were uneven, at best. The humor was hit-and-miss and the scale was brought down quite a bit. Thor himself completes a true character ark over the course of the story. The whole experience was fun. It lays essential groundwork for the upcoming 'Avengers'.

though flawed it still manages to make my jaw drop literally in astonishment with how gorgeous the CGI made everything looked god-like. The realm of thor in particular was something one can only see if real gods do exists. Branagh did exceptionally well in his direction and for someone who is not used to this kind of projects he manages to do it like a pro. This thing he did with Thor is almost like something out of the Spielberg wizardry handbook. Hemsworth is believable which is the most important thing for this to work. Portman on the other hand seemed very typical though credible enough. There are some unexpected toned down moments were gods go crazy. And when things become really crazy that's when sparks fly..
