Hugh Jackman makes the movie. That is, almost everything else about the movie is majorly disappointing. It's written poorly, with an emphasis on botching new and old characters, including one or two elements of Wolverine's backstory. Not to mention the bad CG in some places. A couple of the action scenes were decent. Wolverine taking out the helicopter was kinda cool. Parts were passable, but as a whole it's just too much of a big dumb mess to recommend.

Not quite as good as some of the previous X-men movies, but very enjoyable. Wolverine is awesome and everyone should watch it to know his back story.

I have always wondered why Wolverine is considered so bad ass, it just seems like he can heal and has claws, but that there are many so much more powerful than him. This movie helps show why he is special and does so with some kick ass action. I think it is a great addition to the X-men series and want to see where they are going with the story. My only question is: Why did wolverine stop aging at 40? You would think this would have happened when he was 25 or something. Or is it just because Hugh Jackman is old but is supposed to be playing a 25 year old.

Its almost good enough to make you forget X-Men 3. Almost..not quite My guy who was very much into the cartoons did gripe about some of the inaccuracies, but as some one who only really knows them from the movies I enjoyed it. Not as good as the Bryan Singer ones, but respectable. Don't be ashamed to rent this one, be ashamed to rent the Last Stand.

Action aplenty and humerous throughout an overall absorbing action film, but some of the effects were a bit of a let down. After the first three x men films, this one has a ready made audience, so they knew the money was going to come in but they let FX slide in some parts and this was only emphasised by the amazine FX in other parts, which made the film sparodically enjoyable, but with a definate overall thumbs up.

A pretty enjoyable action film that throws in several characters from the X-Men comics all surrounding the origins of Wolverine. I'm sure the die hard comic book fans of the X-Men (you know who you are) will most likely hate this movie relentlessly, but honestly, if you want the comic book, then go read the comic book. Lots of good special effects and an almost Herculean effort by Jackman, who carries this film, though Schreiber as Sabretooth turns in a good performance as well.

I'll give it three stars, but 2.5 could suffice. It's not as good as the other X-Men movies. Liev Schreiber is great as Sabertooth as is Ryan Reynolds (yes, I just wrote that), but the film seems quite hollow as a whole. It's a good popcorn flick and it doesn't try to be anything else, which is good.

This movie was definitely strong. I definitely didn't know that much about the X-Men story as a whole, because it's been so long since I have seen the movies and even longer since I've even looked at an X-Men comic book. So, going in it was almost as though I had never watched any X-Men movie before. However, I will say that it was well done.It really did let the character of Wolverine grow which is something that I could appreciate. They really told his story well.
