The Ten Commandments review

"So it was written..So it shall be done." Revisiting an old classic which is considered one of the pioneers for special effects. Moses (Charlton Heston) discovers his roots, born a Hebrew but raised by an Egyptian princess. Only minor qualms this reviewer had were the over acting of certain artists, love angles, Hollywood exaggerations, some ridiculous scenes due to poor dialogue and length. Heston did a splendid job in his portrayal. The score was wonderful and wardrobe elegant. Despite some dated special effects, it was still fascinating to see onscreen. Screenplay was exceptional with lines: "You have wisdom. You need nothing more." - Jethro, We're not animals.
