Poseidon has Really Sunk

'The Poseidon Adventure' was no masterpiece, but at least some of its characters (such as the elderly Jewish couple and the lead played by Gene Hackman) were somewhat engaging and, truth by told, quite well portrayed. Yet this worthless remake can't even give us that. Instead, we get Kurt Russell doing a terrible Hackman impersonation, Josh Lucas having a personality bypass, Kevin Dillon playing a gambler whose auspicious nickname practically marks him for the choir invisible, and Emmy Rossum, with this being her second appearance in a water-related disaster film, not getting the message that Neptune really does not like her.
As you can probably tell, I was not impressed by this film.
