Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

pretty good songs singing and spectacle

Sweeney Todd like most movie musicals have a lot to do with three things the singing the songs and the spectacle. The singing is really fine all around. I know many dislike Helena Bonham carter's singing but I saw the original Angela Lansbury and really its the character more than anything else. Everyone else is good but different from other iterations of the musical. The songs vary and really they vary from person to person. I liked some a lot like my friends and pretty women, but did not care much for no place like London, but someone could have a different view entirely. Finally the spectacle is very well done. The Oscar winning art direction is great as are the costumes and the sets. I would say that this is Tim Burton's third best film far behind Ed wood, and somewhat behind Pee wee's great adventure.
