It's better than "300" by a lightyear. I remember watching this film in high school and I was absolutely astounded. I felt like I was watching something so majestic, I couldn't keep my eyes off it. It also helps that it has an involving story and characters that are way beyond cool. Josh Hartnett's scenes were definitely a highlight because he was shrouded in mystery the whole time. This first installment doesn't take itself too seriously, which was a plus, but it retains its dark aura. Watching movies like this reminds me how much I love films, may they be good or bad; that film magic can be found everywhere, one just has to know where or have the patience to look. A sequel is coming out in a few months and I cannot wait to lay my eyes on it.
