It started off bad but got better as it went along... then the ending was kind of a let-down. There were some solid thrills here like the rats, policeman, and the video tape scenes. But then again there were also some cliches such as when the woman has to fight the main villain in the end to serve some kind of resolution to her problems at home. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty effective because it happened overnight, which means the setting was dark and creepy. The eighty-five running time of the movie, I thought, was a great move because the ending kind of fizzled out. This is by no means a perfect movie but it's worth a rental with friends while having a sleepover or if you're alone craving for a more than descent thriller on a rainy, chilly night.
