The setting, production design, and gothic style of this film are all awesome. Some of the vampire scenes, however, get melodramatic and bring the film down into campy territory. It's interesting that Kirsten Dunst, as a creepy child vampire, gives possibly the best performance of the film. Kind of cool, but hard to take seriously.
