"ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES" .... This is pretty much the ultimate litmus test of the entire production.
I am so tempted to go deep in analytical argument but I refuse to. I am merely doing a movie review. When it comes to a bible-based movie, one thing needs to be considered extremely important: HISTORICITY.
And I would say it was quite accurate. Every conscientious Bible student should do an in-depth dissertation of this film as a pre-requisite to graduation. The concepts of vicarious sacrifice, atonement, and Christ's complete humanity have been successfully portrayed.
