First off, I don't hate this movie or even dislike it. But I have to give it one star considering the worth of time or money spent on buying, renting or seeing movies. In this case it is time wasted. The plot follows some rich playboy who lives in a large old castle-type building with an Igor-like chef who looks a little like the fat zombie in Plan 9 From Outer Space. Oh, and he has a dungeon where he keeps a thousand cats. So this guy flies around in his helicopter and tries to charm women into his castle where he usually kills them somehow and feeds their meat to his 1,000 cats-then he keeps the heads of the victims within pickled jars. The editing in this movie feels very vague and aimless. Scenes often go on and on, stretching out the plot from what could be a 15-minute short film to a full-length 1-hour movie with a lot of zoning-out moments-this is probably a great movie to watch while you're stoned. And that's about it. There really doesn't seem to be much of a script. And if you're maybe looking for shock-value, you won't find violence here either. Night of 1000 Cats is rated R because there are a couple of scenes that show topless women. Then there are one or two death scenes that would fit into a PG rated movie-which is actually fine by me. To be honest, I kind of enjoyed Night of 1,000 Cats for its campy 80's style grind-house feel, and I laughed a little a few times from the bad editing, but for the sake of others I can't recommend it.
