Halloween is a pointless, lazy and very uninspired remake of a classic film. With OK direction by Rob Zombie, this movie is terribly written and AWFULLY acted. The scares are mediocre and the dialogue is just too cheesy. Most of the characters are pointless, under-used or under-written, especially the ones from the original film like Malcolm Mcdowell (who's good, but incredibelly wasted as the usually Important Sam Loomis). The first half is fresh though useless and the second half is the entire orginal film wrapped into an hour. It was weird to see Danielle Harris playing annie, because she played Jamie in Halloween 4 and 5. The soundtrack is one of the few good things and it was fun seeing Brad Dourif as Sheriff Brackett. Scout Taylor Compton's laurie is no where near as good as Jamie Lee Curtis' laurie, the same can be said about Kristina Klebe who is no match for P.J Soles' linda. A few good moments, but this film is umtimately an utter disgrace to the original.
