There's a consistent flair pulsing through the filmmaking like neurons within a nervous system. "Love & Basketball" blends steamy yet sincere romance with a sports drama more about what a player has to prove to both themself and others than the game itself. All while evading conventional trappings that typically pop up in both genres.
