Across the Pacific (1942)

One of Bogart's middle-tier dramas after stardom, this mixture of romance, espionage, and wartime action does have enough going on to remain entertaining. The special effects and matte paintings are terribly dated. But the chemistry between Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor is as good as it was in The Maltese Falcon. Sydney Greenstreet is an effective villain as usual.
