Hardboiled murder mystery complicated by a love triangle between the witness and the two policemen assigned to protect her. Given the date of release, the movie is surprisingly forward thinking in regards to racism. More surprising is that the nuanced approach that examines how this affects all three leads and makes them make stupid mistakes.
