Saddling James Stewart with a giant accordion and a sidekick sounds hokey. But NIGHT PASSAGE proves itself to be robust entertainment as far westerns go. Audie Murphy is a surprisingly effective villain but Dan Duryea wasn't threatening at all as his partner. The Colorado scenery is a beautiful backdrop and the action scenes are exciting.
