Bad Girls (1994)

Sadly Bad Girls isn't as kinky or sexy as I hoped.

It's really just an expensive but often boring rehash of Young Guns (as fellow user Yojimbo aptly put it). The draw this time is that they're all hot up and coming actresses such as Madeleine Stowe, Andie McDowell, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Drew Barrymore. No matter how dirty they get or how much fake blood is on them, they look gorgeous in every shot.
If you're expecting some decent sex or something to get off on like I was (don't judge me) because they're all attractive actresses playing Wild West whores, this doesn't even have that. It toys with it for a while and even has the 4 ladies naked in a pool splashing water in slow motion and we see Barrymore topless once or twice afterwards. But that's it =(.
The movie actually does open with a reasonably well done chase scene but then you realize how poorly constructed the plot is because...you don't know any of the characters' names! Seriously I was almost thirty minutes into this movie and I still only knew half the main cast by name. That's some sloppy character development. The script is like that as a whole. There's this big train robbery being built up and then it abruptly cuts to the evil outlaw gang already completing the heist at gunpoint.
There isn't much action in the plot that's memorable and when it is, it's usually misogynistic and directed against the female characters by lecherous scoundrels. Stuff like that makes it feel dirty and trashy instead the empowering feminist star vehicle a la Thelma&Louise I'm sure that the studio hoped it'd be seen as. If there's something I can positively mention about 'Bad Girls' is that Madeleine Stowe does do a decent job with her character. It's not much but it's enough to make her the most interesting thing about it.
