D3: The Mighty Ducks

A fair ending to the Ducks trilogy

"The Mighty Ducks" are back, and are going to a private high school, where they must deal with the bully "Varsity team" and faculty who do not want them there.

This is only a fair ending to the trilogy that inspired an actual NHL team name. It has the original cast, although many of them aren't part of the main plot as in the previous films. Also, the three main adults in the previous films ("Gordon Bombay", "Charlie's" mother and "Hans") are now minor supporting characters with little screen time.

The jokes that were seen throughout the previous movies were there, but there isn't as many. The script, in general, is also a bit weak.

Another problem with this movie is character development. A girl that "Charlie" becomes interested in, and their relationship is barely touched. Also, the "Varsity Team" is seen mainly bullying the "Ducks", you don't see them in any scene where the viewer has to assume they are planning their prank in a following scene.

The best part of the movie, like the previous two, are the hockey scenes. They are well done, as usual, and are fun to watch.

Sadly, Emilio Estevez is not there as he is in the other two films. He is there mainly as the father-figure to "Charlie" (Joshua Jackson).

Overall, this movie is not the best of the trilogy. There are a lot of plot holes that aren't disguised real well.
