Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood

More offensive than funny

"Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" is a lame attempt at making fun of serious "growing up in the hood" movies. In fact, it's more offensive than funny.

Shawn Wayans plays "Ashtray," a teenager who moves into the hood at the start of the movie, and wants to move out half-way through. He is accompanied by his buddy (Marlon Wayans), who has a weird look on his face at all times and has an even weirder hairdo with the ability to coordinate his guns with his clothes.

"Ashtray" hooks up with a woman who already has seven kids from different fathers. The dumbest part about this character is she knows she is pregnant seconds after she and "Ashtray" make love. How does she know she's pregnant literally seconds after having sex anyway????

There were a few jokes and sight gags that caused me to chuckle or laugh, but most of the jokes just made me shake my head.

If you want to see EVERY stereotype seen on television and in movies, this movie is the one to see. They were meant to make fun of each of the stereotypes, but they mostly came across as offensive.

The acting was not that great either. The only performance that was tolerable was done by Shawn Wayans, whose character has a father two years older than his character is.

I watched this movie because it was recommended by Yahoo Movie's recommendations for movies on TV (late night on HBO). This was a recommendation Yahoo Movies should be ashamed of. It wasn't funny, and I do not recommend it for anybody -- including my worst enemy.
