What happens in Vegas....
3.5/4 stars

It is not often that Hollywood manages to produce an action packed film that doesn't rely on excessive use of computer graphics but with 21 they have done just that. The truth based story of Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess), a talented MIT student who dreams of completing medical school at Harvard. Unfortunately for Ben he just doesn't have the money to pay the enormous fees and so when the opportunity arises to go to Vegas and earn thousands of dollars as part of a fail proof scheme, it seems like the perfect option.
He joins a card counting group headed by Math teacher, Micky (a wonderful Kevin Spacey) who master the skill of playing Vegas for big bucks. Everything seems to be going well for Ben and his dream of a Harvard education seems close when everything falls around him. Within a few scenes of the film the true colors of the characters are revealed and Ben understands that sometimes what happens in Vegas can't always stay in Vegas.
This film is well directed with great music and scenery. The side story with the love interest, Jill Taylor (an unconvincing Kate Bosworth) drags a little too much for my liking. There are convincing performances from Jim Sturgess, Laurence Fishburne and most noteworthy Kevin Spacey.
This movie is great to watch and makes you want to hit the tables of Vegas by the end. Well worth a viewing!
