The best part of Christmas Bloody Christmas is the neon lighting and colours, as it gives the overall picture a striking Christmas look that is festive.

The robotic Santa Claus is just an actor in a suit, and the film does not hide it. However, in some way, I like the schlocky approach, which reminded me of the B-movie slasher movies, just from the practical effects and colourful visual style. It has a certain charm to it.

I liked the Halloween (1978) and The Terminator homages. Both films include two unstoppable killers stalking their prey. The Santa Claus killer's POV shots and the way it gets up every time, just like Michael Myers from Halloween, made for a great homage. The robotic Santa Claus being an unstoppable killing machine like The Terminator was scary.

Everything else had so much more potential. And now this brings me to my issues with the film. I wasn't too keen on the characters, and the writing was awful. I think the word "fuck" is said in every scene. It got ridiculous after a while. I wished it focused more on developing the characters' personalities and dialogue in a more realistic and meaningful way. This movie needed a killer score (pun intended), as certain scenes need a John Carpenter-like vibe. Or maybe combine traditional Christmas music with more contemporary or experimental sounds to create a unique and memorable atmosphere.

Overall rating: I enjoyed most of the movie, but I wouldn't call it a Christmas hit.
