'The Salvation' is nothing more than the most telling revenge western. There's little-to-no character to be found. It's just a simple plot constantly moving towards it's completely expected shootout finale. You can have a simple plot with easily identifiable character archetypes and lots of gun shooting. That's what most western's used to be all about. However, this movie just lacks engagement. I'm watching all of the tropes come at me with hardly any stimulation. I couldn't even enjoy those common occurrences on a mild level. There's nothing particularly bad here, which makes my ranking difficult. This movie is the unmemorable kind of mediocre.
