'42' tells the inspiring true story of one of Major League Baseball's greatest players. It may come off as a safe, slightly 'hollywood-ized' biopic, but it entertains with it's themes and believable performances. There's less reliance on the usual cliches (though it still contains some) and more attention is paid to the effects that Robinson's experience in baseball had on segregation.
