I haven't see the original, only the "Redux" version, but it's ok at best. It's not so much a war movie but a psychological thriller about the madness of war and what it can do to the human psyche.

Yeah, the redux version never ends. It kinda blows in fact. The great thing about the original is that it is much shorter (thank God) and Brando babels a little less. In my opinion, so much better than Redux! If you get a chance to get your hands on it, you should check it out.
