Breakfast at Tiffany's

Unimpressed
Ghost Seed - wrote on 08/27/08

This film makes me question my humanity - perhaps I am a robot? Or just simply built without a heart? Both are probable as I must admit I felt nothing for this boring story or it's characters. (I speak of course only of the MOVIE, and NOT the book.) I just may be the only person that fails to understand the crazy-love the world has for it.

Not only do I find Holly Go Lightly to be neither charming nor adorable, but feel that Hepburn's performance is quite unimpressive to boot (in comparison to her others.)

I'd like to relate with or find something redeeming about SOMEONE - ANY of the flittering individuals occupying this scenario, and yes, the presence of a troubled writer interested me - but my hopes were shattered with Varjak (Peppard) as he just turned out to be another bore caught up in the Go Lightly "spell" (why?? I haven't the slightest idea) And I certainly couldn't count on the stupidly cast Mickey Rooney with his offensively lame portrayal of the "oriental landlord." Yuck.

A Heartless-bot I may be, but this film is no great shakes.
