Entertaining, if a little predictable. I mean, who would have guessed the straight-A student would become tempted by the glitter of Las Vegas?!? Of course, he'll redeem himself. Gotta have a happy ending!
I think what adds a little more weight is that "21" is based on a true story. Sometimes the truth IS stranger than fiction. How in the world did these students actually do this? The movie stops just short of actually explaining how you count cards, but the little it did reveal about signals among the "team" made my head hurt.
Maybe I was once clever enough to understand the reality. But now, I can only be mildly intrigued by a crowd-pleasing motion picture.
