This was the most fun I have had at the movies so far this year! Marvel has another hit on their hands!! They've turned another comic legend into a gem on the big screen. Casting Robert Downey Jr. in the starring role was risky business, but a major payoff now.

So, once 2008 came into play I began to worry about Marvel. They have now become their own production company which is a great thing, but they also had to borrow over $500 million to start up Iron Man and the rebirth of The incredible Hulk on their own. So, Iron Man really needed to be a hit, and well they hit a grand slam here! Casting Downey Jr. was risky as I said before. This was his first film coming out of rehab, but he was amazing here. Now i can't picture anyone else playing the role. He brings a passion to the role that is just very uncommon. I felt like he could really relate to the character with the whole second chance theme going on. If we really had superheroes in the world today I could so see them being like Tony Stark, flaws and all.

The film takes off right at the beginning and doesn't stop till the end, and I mean the very end. Sit there and wait till the credits role. There is more, and it should not be missed. The action is great in the film, and the special effects are just sweet candies to the eye. There is also a lot of humor, and of course that great Stan "The Man" Lee appearance. This film really doesn't lack in any quality. There really is something here for everyone, and that should be a huge payoff for Marvel.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard are great supporting characters, and of course they hint to the whole Warhammer part for Jim Rhodes (Terrence Howard). So, that should get the fanboys hyper! Even Stark's robots in his shop offer humor, and so does Jarvis.

I'm really happy about this film. It was a lot of fun to watch, and I liked it a lot better than the first Spider-Man, and for me that is saying a lot. This is a must see, and I recommend it highly!!
