Kelly Has Talent. This Movie Lacks It.

To me, this was interesting. I really liked the tension that it brought. It was downright scary. On the other hand the ending was left very open ended. Big mistake.
Richard Kelly has serious talent. He can make things creepy, he can make things funny and he can pace a movie pretty well. Much like Southland Tales, this movie lacks explanation. I get most of it but it didn't hit home well with me. I feel like he will hit a home run again as the Talent is there but just not the whole package yet.
If you like scary, intense flicks, check it out. If you are looking for Donnie Darko - don't rent it. You will hate Richard Kelly.
